Mohamad bin Mohd Khalid atau lebih dikenali sebagai Mamat Khalid (lahir 6 April 1963) ialah seorang pengarah filem dan penulis lakon layar Malaysia yang terkenal dengan filem-filem bercorak komedi. Beliau ialah adik kepada kartunis Datuk Lat.
Dilahirkan di Ipoh, Perak kepada seorang kerani kerajaan dan isterinya seorang surirumah, Mamat memulakan kerjaya awalnya di pejabat kerajaan sebelum menceburi bidang perfileman. Beliau pertama kali menduduki kerusi pengarah pada 2003 menerusi filem komedi sejarah Lang Buana.
Seterusnya beliau mengarahkan filem kedua, filem pertamanya yang bergenre muzikal Rock (2005) dan dua filem kesinambungannya Rock Oo! (2013) dan Rock Bro! (2016). Antara karyanya yang terkenal termasuk Man Laksa (2006), Kala Malam Bulan Mengambang (2008) yang menggunakan konsep filem noir dan Apokalips X (2014) yang berkonsepkan manga dan buku komik grafik. Paling baru-baru ini, filem terbaru arahannya, Hantu Kak Limah 3 ditayangkan di pawagam pada Ogos 2018. Melangkaui kerjaya filemnya, Mamat merupakan pengasas dan pemilik kafe Sarang Art Hub yang beroperasi di Tanjung Malim, Perak dan dibuka pada 2016.
Kehidupan awal
Mamat dilahirkan pada 6 April 1963 di Ipoh, Perak, lima bulan sebelum Persekutuan Tanah Melayu dikenali sebagai Malaysia pada 16 September 1963 dan dibesarkan di Sungai Rokam, Ipoh. Ketika zaman kanak-kanaknya, Mamat pernah pergi ke pawagam setiap hari untuk mengikuti filem terkini. Malangnya, hobinya tidak disukai oleh bapanya, yang juga mengharamkannya daripada menonton panggung wayang walaupun pada saat kematiannya, pada tahun 1974. Namun, itu tidak menghalang minat Mamat untuk menceburi bidang perfileman.
Sebelum menceburi bidang perfileman, Mamat bekerja dalam jabatan kerajaan, kemudian beralih ke bidang penerbitan rancangan televisyen. Antara karya-karya Mamat yang terkenal termasuk Pinang Durian, Rombongan Cik Kiah ke Sukan Komanwel dan Abang We.
Beliau pernah memenangi anugerah Pengarah Terbaik di Anugerah Skrin Panca Delima 2001 untuk telefilem Pinang Durian. Beliau juga pernah menjadi penterjemah skrip untuk siri animasi Kampung Boy karya abangnya, Lat. Mamat juga merupakan peminat tegar muzik rock dan pernah menyertai kumpulan rock Drop Out yang mana beliau merupakan pemain keyboard.
Kehidupan peribadi
Beliau berkahwin dengan Hasmah Hassan pada 12 April 1987 dan dikurniakan lima orang anak—Mohd. Khalid Zaffa (lahir 1987), Nor Sara (lahir 1990), Mohd. Khalid Adam (lahir 1994), Mohd. Khalid Amen (lahir 1995) dan Nur Hassanah (lahir 1999).
Pada Jun 2014, Mamat kehilangan hampir RM100,000 apabila tiga lelaki memecah masuk ke rumahnya dan kemudian melarikan diri dengan kenderaan pacuan empat roda.
Beliau hanya menyedari rumah dipecah masuk pada kira-kira jam 6:30 pagi apabila beliau bangun untuk menunaikan solat Subuh. Hasil daripada rakaman CCTV, perompak mengumpil tetingkap untuk masuk ke rumah, kemudian melarikan diri dengan Mitsubishi Triton dan melarikan kamera antik, iPad, PlayStation dan RM500, menjadikan jumlah kerugian kira-kira RM100,000. Ketika kejadian, Mamat berada di lokasi penggambaran di Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjung Malim.
Isteri beliau, Hasmah Hashim, membuat laporan polis mengenai kejadian itu di Balai Polis Kampung Rapat pada kira-kira pukul 11 pagi.
Pada 21 April 2017, Mamat telah dimasukkan ke Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU) Hospital Ampang Puteri, Selangor, selepas mengadu sukar untuk bernafas kira-kira jam 3 pagi selepas pulang minum bersama rakan-rakannya.
Beliau dipercayai terlalu keletihan selepas menghadiri majlis tayangan perdana filem Lebuhraya Ke Neraka yang diadakan di pawagam di Bukit Bintang. Mamat bagaimanapun berada dalam keadaan stabil, namun tetap berada di bawah pemantauan doktor berikutan tekanan darahnya yang tinggi.
Mamat merupakan antara selebriti kelahiran Perak yang menunaikan tanggungjawab mengundi pada pilihan raya umum ke-14, beliau mengundi di pusat mengundi Sekolah Rendah Agama Sungai Rokam dan merupakan kali keempat mengundi bagi kawasan Parlimen Gopeng dan Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) Sungai Rapat di sini, beliau mengakui suasana pilihan raya 2018 memberi ilham kepadanya.
