Salamah (kanan) menggadaikan cincin perkahwinannya bagi membolehkan Yatt ke sekolah.

“Sedikit demi sedikit ibu mula menggadaikan barang kemas yang ada untuk menampung perbelanjaan rumah,” katanya yang menetap di Kampung Changkat Besar, Perak.

Mesra disapa Yatt, katanya, ibunya menggadaikan barang kemas terakhir iaitu cincin perkahwinannya sewaktu dia mula bersekolah di Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Phui Chen, Tapah, Perak.

Tambahnya lagi, pendidikan merupakan satu-satunya kemewahan yang ibunya mampu berikan kepadanya ketika itu.

Video berdurasi 20 saat itu meraih hampir 10,000 tontonan di aplikasi TikTok.

“Dengan duit tu la ibu guna untuk beli pakaian, buku, yuran dan kelangkapan sekolah saya. Masa tu saya rasa sedih sebab ibu terpaksa gadaikan cincin yang dia paling sayang.

Salamah (kiri) bergelar ibu tunggal selepas kehilangan suami pada tahun 1995.

“Ibu kerja keras untuk pastikan saya bersekolah. Dia selalu nasihatkan untuk belajar betul-betul sebab itu je yang dia mampu untuk bagi pada saya,” ujarnya yang merupakan anak jati Perak.

Yatt mengambil alih gerai ibunya pada tahun 2014 setelah tiga tahun bekerja sebagai operator di sebuah kilang di Jalan Tapah.

Dalam masa lima bulan, dia berjaya mengumpul wang dan menghadiahkan sebentuk cicin belah rotan buat ibu tersayang.

“Alhamdulilah, tahun ni rezeki saya semakin murah. Hasil dari duit berniaga nasi lemak dan kuih muih, saya belikan ibu cincin yang hampir sama.

Sekarang dia dah banyak berehat di rumah sebab kami tak bagi dia buat kerja berat, lebih-lebih dengan keadaan ibu yang sudah berusia.

“Waktu saya nak bagi cincin tu, ibu terkejut dan dia rasa nak menangis sebab dapat rasa pakai cincin hasil titik peluh anaknya sendiri. Ibu ucapkan terima kasih dan mendoakan semoga dimurahkan lagi rezeki.

“Saya seronok sangat waktu tu sebab dapat hadiahkan sebentuk cincin pada ibu sebagai tanda membalas jasa dan pengorbanannya dahulu,” katanya sambil menambah, ibunya merupakan seorang yang garang tetapi peramah.

Menurut anak bongsu daripada lima beradik ini, sudah tiba masa untuk ibunya berehat dan giliran anak-anak pula mencari rezeki.

“Dulu ibu saya banyak berkorban, siang dan malam kerja mencari duit untuk sara keluarga kami.

Yatt (tudung hitam) kini mahu ibunya berehat di rumah setelah bertahun bekerja keras untuk mereka sekeluarga.

“Sekarang dia dah banyak berehat di rumah sebab kami tak bagi dia buat kerja berat, lebih-lebih dengan keadaan ibu yang sudah berusia.

“Pada yang masih ada ibu, hargailah mereka selagi masih boleh rasa kasih sayang seorang ibu,” katanya.
