Umno memutuskan untuk mencalonkan Naib Presiden Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob sebagai calon perdana menteri selepas presiden parti, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi menarik diri daripada dicalonkan untuk jawatan itu, kata Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

“Presiden menarik diri daripada dicalonkan. Dalam mesyuarat MKT (Majlis Kerja Tertinggi) malam tadi, dalam mesyuarat bersama Ahli Parlimen, dia ada sebut dan mesyuarat biro politik dia maklum juga menarik diri daripada dicalonkan.

“Orang nombor dua iaitu Tok Mat (Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan), tapi tidak memenuhi kriteria sebagai calon sebab dia Adun (Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri). Jadi kita pergi yang nombor tigalah iaitu Ismail Sabri.

“Sebab dia ada pengalaman sebagai menteri kanan yang mengurus Covid-19, ada pengalaman jadi ketua pembangkang serta pengalaman jadi timbalan perdana menteri,” kata setiausaha agung Umno itu kepada wartawan di Menara Datuk Onn pada Rabu.

Anggota Dewan Rakyat mempunyai sehingga jam 4 petang hari ini untuk menyerahkan nama calon yang mereka sokong sebagai perdana menteri Malaysia yang seterusnya.

Pada Isnin, Speaker Dewan Rakyat Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun memaklumkan kepada semua Ahli Parlimen untuk menyerahkan secara bertulis calon pilihan mereka ke Istana Negara melalui faks, emel atau WhatsApp.

Dua Ahli Parlimen Barisan Nasional (BN) mengesahkan parti itu bersetuju menyokong Naib Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob sebagai calon tunggal Perdana Menteri.

Ahli Parlimen Pasir Salak, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman dan Ahli Parlimen Pengerang, Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, berkata nama Ismail Sabri dipersetujui oleh semua 42 Ahli Parlimen BN untuk dipersembah kepada Yang di-Pertuan Agong, sebelum jam 4 petang esok.

Tajuddin berkata, Ismail Sabri sudah mendapat jumlah sokongan melebihi majoriti 111 yang diperlukan untuk membentuk kerajaan baharu.

“UMNO dan BN bersama-sama dan bersetuju mencalonkan satu nama. Tentunya (calon itu mesra kepada semua parti luar BN).

“Ya, (calon itu) Ismail Sabri. Kami sudah melepasi sempadan (majoriti 111 untuk membentuk kerajaan),” katanya kepada media di Menara Dato’ Onn, hari ini.

Beliau ditemui selepas menghadiri mesyuarat antara Ahli Parlimen BN bagi memutuskan calon Perdana Menteri yang perlu dihantar kepada Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, sebelum jam 4 petang, esok.

Ia susulan notis dikeluarkan Speaker Dewan Rakyat, Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun yang meminta Ahli Dewan Rakyat menyerahkan surat akuan bersumpah menamakan seorang calon Perdana Menteri kepada Istana Negara, sebelum tempoh berkenaan.

Ditanya parti yang turut memberi sokongan kepada Ismail Sabri, Tajuddin berkata, ia diperoleh daripada Perikatan Nasional (PN).

“Kami mendapat sokongan daripada BERSATU (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) dan PAS,” katanya.

Nama Ismail Sabri trending di media sosial dan angin yang kuat mengatakan bahawa beliau adalah calon yang bakal menggantikan Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin sebagai Perdana Menteri ke 9.

Ismail Sabri atau netizen memanggilnya Paklong telah memuatnaik satu gambar sedang bersarapan.

Gambar tersebut dihujani dengan ayat tahniah kerana dipilih menjadi Perdana Menteri tetapi ada satu komen yang mendapat beratus tanda like.

Ayat pintu belakang ini berkenaan dengan satu status Ismail Sabri ketika masih berada dalam kerajaan dan waktu itu kes c0vid meningkat naik.

Hantaran Menteri Pertahanan Ismail Sabri Yaakob di laman sosial tentang “pintu depan” mengundang seribu tanda tanya di alam maya.

Dilampirkan bersama gambarnya – yang juga menteri kanan (kluster keselamatan) – sedang menutup pintu pejabatnya. Hantaran yang disertakan kapsyen tergantung itu mengundang teka-teki.

“Saya dah tutup pintu depan tapi ………………..” katanya disertai emoji sedih.

Meskipun hantarannya itu tidak merujuk kepada sesiapa atau menyebut mana-mana keadaan, di ruangan komen, nampaknya ramai juga warga maya mempunyai tafsiran sendiri terhadap kata-kata tersirat ahli parlimen Bera itu.

Namanya sedang tular di media sosial untuk dipilih sebagai Perdana Menteri Malaysia kesembilan.

Sementara itu, pencarian ‘Ismail Sabri’ di Google juga semakin meningkat sejak Ahad lalu berbanding sebelum itu.

Hanya meletakkan status hantaran di Facebook (FB) untuk bersarapan pun mendapat reaksi puluhan ribu komen, tanda suka dan perkongsian netizen dalam tempoh tak sampai sejam.

“Baru nak breakfast berdua.. Si oyen ni nak join jugak,” itu status Ahli Parlimen Bera, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob di FB sambil melampirkan fotonya melihat isteri beliau Datin Seri Muhaini Zainal Abidin yang sedang mendukung kucing mereka bernama Oyen.

Ribuan netizen memberikan reaksi apabila Ismail Sabri yang juga bekas Timbalan Perdana Menteri terdahulu menonjolkan riak wajah tersenyum gembira.

Antara reaksi netizen seperti pemilik akaun Tony Monero berkata: “Nampak berseri lain macam muka DS (Datuk Seri)”.

Sementara itu, Maliza Ahamad berkata: “Amin-amin. Saya pun doa yang sama. Hujan ni jomlah kita doa ramai-ramai.”

Rohaida Abas dalam reaksinya pula berkata: “Jika ditakdirkan DS (Ismail Sabri) menjadi PM, kami rakyat marhain ini berharap DS dapat berkhidmat dengan terbaik demi kesejahteraan rakyat. Pilihlah barisan kabinet yang terbaik dan berkemampuan yang betul-betul boleh bekerja, bukan sekadar pandai beretorik sahaja. Semoga wabak dapat dibasmi dan ekonomi dapat dipulihkan. Kasihan kepada generasi muda yang dalam proses belajar dan baru mula membina kehidupan. Berilah mereka sinar kehidupan. Kata orang, bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh.”

Terdahulu, tular sejak semalam, Ismail Sabri bakal menjadi Perdana Menteri Malaysia yang Kesembilan.

Ini berikutan beliau dikatakan menerima sokongan padu termasuk dari Umno dan Barisan Nasional (BN) selain blok Perikatan Nasional (PN) termasuk Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) dan Pas.

Malam tadi, dua Ahli Parlimen BN mengesahkan Ismail Sabri menjadi pilihan BN sebagai calon Perdana Menteri.
